Technology and Culture: Genetics and its Social and Ethical Implications in Asia and Europe

Privacy: Ethical Issues in Biotechnology and Information Technology

Granted by the Academic Division, Thailand Research Fund. The objectives of this project is to investigate the ethical and conceptual aspects of privacy, in its new form within the recent advances and eventual merging of biotechnology and information technology.

Continuing Education for the Elderly: Life Sciences and Spirituality for Quality Aging

This is a curriculum development and research project funded by the National Economic and Social Advisory Council (NESAC). It consists of four smaller projects: (1) The Elderly and IT; (2) Child Psychology for the Elderly; (3) Quality Leisure Time and Spiritual Dimensions; and (4) Future Trends: the Elderly in the Year B.E. 2570 (2027 AD). The Role of the University in Information Technology for Development in Asia

Supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, with additional support by the APEC Foundation, this is a collaborative project comprising the CEST, the Center for Internet Studies, University of Washington, Seattle, the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, Harvard University, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, National University of Singapore, and many others. The goal is to investigate the various roles in which universities in the region can play in optimizing information and communication technologies for development.

Research Program on 'Science in Thai Culture and Society'
